The trip
Nyungwe lies in the south-west of Rwanda, on the border with Burundi, and covers 1,019 km² of Afromontane forest, bamboo slopes, grassland and wetland. Thirteen species of primate live there, the chimpanzee among them, which is why guests go: to track chimpanzees in the forest and to walk above it on the canopy walk.
Because Nyungwe is in the far south-west, the concierge can plan it as an overnight trip or with a helicopter transfer. The concierge arranges the permits, the driver and the stay near the park, and keeps your villa in Kigali for your return if you want it. Every detail and fee is confirmed before you confirm, and laundry is waiting when you come back from the forest.
