How it works

A gusaba or an introduction ceremony brings two families together, often with relatives flying in from abroad. A villa gives the family a place to stay together, get ready and receive guests before and after the ceremony.

On request, the concierge arranges the practical side around the day: hair and make-up at the villa, transport for the family, a photographer, a traditional dance performance, meals cooked at home. Each element is quoted before you confirm. Several villas can be booked together for a large family, and Amahoro, Urugwiro and Irebero each have a bedroom without stairs for older relatives.

Good to know

Pets are welcome at every villa. A private chef cooks in the villa on request, with a second or third chef for a larger group. The concierge can look for a babysitter on request.

Arranged by your concierge

The concierge looks after the rest, including a traditional dance performance, hair and make-up at the villa and several villas for one family, and quotes each item before you confirm. Every arrangement is confirmed in writing before your stay.

The villas it suits

Urugwiro is a villa in central Kacyiru whose double-height living room becomes a private cinema at night. Urugwiro sleeps eight in four bedrooms: one king and three queens; three are en-suite and the fourth uses the hallway bathroom.

Amahoro is a four-suite villa in Kibagabaga where the evenings move from the pool to the fire pit and on to the cinema. Amahoro sleeps up to eight. A house manager is on site, housekeeping is daily and security is on duty around the clock.

Questions (FAQ)

When should I ask for help with a gusaba?

As early as you can, ideally with your booking; the concierge confirms the details in writing.

How much is help with a gusaba?

It is not part of the villa rate. The concierge confirms the details and the fee first.

Is it a private villa or a shared one?

Private. Each residence is booked to one group at a time; there is no lobby and no one else staying.

Can we pay in our own currency?

Rates are in US dollars; you can pay in USD, in RWF, by mobile money or in crypto, and the concierge confirms the total in writing.

How far is the airport?

Urugwiro and Amahoro are about 20 minutes away by car. Airport pickup can be arranged at any hour.
